Home-Based Volunteer Training
Thank you for agreeing to undergo School Volunteer Training. Below you will find links to the short training manual for your “at home” training sessions.
Once you have read and understood the document Student Protection Handbook for Volunteers you are required to sign a confirmation that you understand your reporting responsibilities as a volunteer. This form must be completed and returned to the Principal for his signature.
The Volunteer Code of Conduct Booklet is an important document and must be read, understood and agreed to by you for volunteer work at the school to proceed. By completing a Volunteer Register Sheet you indicate your acceptance of the Volunteer Code of Conduct and your understanding of the appropriate protocols for Student Protection.
Each time you visit St Peter Chanel School to work as a volunteer, you are required to sign in as a volunteer. Each classroom will have a sign-in book, where you record your name, time of arrival and Volunteer Number (which will be given to you upon completion of your training and return of forms). Similar sign-on books will be in the Tuckshop, Library and School Office.
In responding to the Queensland Legislative requirements regarding Student Protection and Volunteer Training, we are mindful that becoming a volunteer in a school is now a complex process. Volunteers are highly valued here at St Peter Chanel and your role in helping at school is a very critical one to our daily life and the provision of high quality education to students. Please continue to volunteer within our community. The students benefit enormously, the staff appreciate and value your contributions and the Administration Team commend the many skills and incredible energy you give us as a volunteer.
In conclusion please remember to return the following items to the School Office at your earliest convenience.
- a completed Volunteer Register Sheet
- a signed Volunteer Suitability Declaration
- a copy of your Positive Notice and a photocopy of your Blue Card (if you are a non-parent volunteer)
